WhatsApp new update with 6 new features

WhatsApp has introduced several new features in its latest update of the Android app. The new features are available on version 2.12.241 and above. The latest update tries to make chats more
personal with custom notifications while making it easier for users to keep a tab on their data consumption. However, Google Drive backup is yet to come on WhatsApp.

1) Custom Notifications: Just tap the name at the top of chat to access this new feature. With Custom notifications you can set different notification tone for different people along with ringtones and more.

2) Popup notifications: Tired of opening the app every time you receive a new chat. Now, you don't have to. Within Custom Notifications you can now choose to show messages in the form of popups and even reply without opening the app.

3) Mark as unread: Now you can mark chats as unread to see or respond to it later. Chats marked as unread are highlighted in the chat list.

4) Mute Chat: Someone is irritating you? Now you can mute individual chats.

5) Low data usage: WhatsApp Calls aren't free unless you are using someone else's WiFi. Located under the Calls tab settings, inside Chats and Calls, this feature claims to consume less data during WhatsApp calls.
6) Network Usage: You can monitor WhatsApp data consumption with this feature.

Google is reportedly going to launch a new online photo-sharing service and storage option at its developer conference later this month, which Bloomberg says, will not be a part of its Google+ social network.

At the moment, Google offers a photo sharing service known as "Google+ Photos," which comes pre-installed with every Android device. Google+ Photos automatically backs up photos in the device to Google cloud storage.

However, the new photo service will not be a part of Google+ network. It seems like the company’s attempts to bolster its product lineup and compete with the increasingly popular rivals like Facebook or Twitter to grow its user base.

How to convert your Facebook page into a website

A new experimental app leverages the potential your Facebook page holds and helps you turn it into a full-fledged website.

The new app, dubbed Pager, helps local businesses get easy presence on the Web by simply using their Facebook page and turning it into a traditional website.

One of the three engineers who have developed the app, Darrel-Day Guerrero says that the idea behind the app is to allow small businesses who use Facebook to manage a website easily, TechCrunch report notes.

Pager is one simple app to use. All one needs to do is log in using the Facebook account and a list of the pages maintained by the account holder pops up. Just pick a page, save, and the website is automatically live.

The information from the Facebook page is sorted into four categories - About, News, Events and Galleries. The About page is supposed to present all your business's contact info and opening hours, the news page displays your wall posts, and events and galleries are pretty self-explanatory.

The app is still in the making and the team is hopeful of making everything work leveraging the Facebook API.

Easy steps to automatically transfer your whatsApp Images to Dropbox

We share so many pictures on WhatsApp every day and it is but a task to keep a track of them. If the pictures are important and your phone's storage is running low, you end up frantically searching for a USB chord to transfer the content to a computer.

Wouldn't life be a little easier if the entire process was automated with just a single app? Well, here are the five easy steps which will make transferring all your WhatsApp images to your Dropbox account feel like a breeze.

As all the WhatsApp media is automatically saved to the phone's physical memory, all that one needs to automate the transfer is get the Dropbox app on their smartphone and follow the steps below, as suggested by Digital Inspiration:

1. Open your Dropbox and create a folder, name it WhatsApp for convenience.

2. Launch the DropSync app and authorise it to access your Dropbox account.

3. Set the Local (watch) folder as /storage/emulated/0/WhatsApp/Media/WhatsApp Images and set the Dropbox folder as the one that you created in Step #1.

4. Set the sync method as 'Upload only' so that it is not a 2-way sync and only WhatsApp images are sent to Dropbox but not the other way.

5. Go to the app settings and change the Autosync Interval to 5 minutes (the default is an hour).

Task accomplished! Now watch all your WhatsApp media magically fly into your Dropbox folder. Since you also have the Dropbox installed on your desktop (we are assuming you do), the images will also be visible there so you don't need to go USB-hunting again.
